About the tool

Online video metadata viewer and remover

Video files from phones and cameras record more than footage. QuickTime atoms store the creation and modification times, the device make, model and software version, and often the GPS location where the clip was shot. Embedded XMP packets can add author names and editing history.

ExifTool.net reads all of this directly in your browser. Open an MP4, MOV or M4V file and you get a complete, searchable report grouped by category, with a privacy score that shows how much the clip reveals about you.

Because the video is processed locally with JavaScript, nothing is uploaded to a server. Cleaning edits the metadata in place without re-encoding, so quality is untouched and even large clips finish quickly.
